About Yellowstone Travel

Yellowstone Travel is an independent, comprehensive guide to Yellowstone National Park and its gateway towns — West Yellowstone and Gardiner, Montana, plus Cody and Jackson, Wyoming — built for people planning a trip, not for people trying to sell you one.

What we do

We maintain curated listings for dining, lodging, hiking trails, tours and experiences, camping, and transportation across the park and its gateway communities. Alongside listings, we publish trip-planning guides, a Grand Loop Road trip planner, a backcountry camping and fishing permit helper, a cost calculator, and a real-time weather forecast for the park, so you can plan around conditions — including Yellowstone's long winter road closures — instead of finding out about them after you've packed the car.

What we're not

Yellowstone Travel is not a tour operator, booking agent, or travel agency. We don't sell tours, process reservations, or take a cut of anything you book. When a listing links out to a business's own site or a booking platform, that's where the transaction happens — we're the map, not the middleman.

How listings get here

We research and verify the businesses, trails, and experiences we list — hours, pricing, permit requirements, and road and trail conditions can all change, so we recommend confirming details directly with the business or the National Park Service before you go, especially for anything permit-gated like backcountry camping or fishing, or for winter travel when most interior roads are closed to regular vehicles.
